Honda Technology

To help avoid an accident before it occurs and to help protect people while it occurs, Honda continually develops systems that will provide greater safety for everyone concerned.
Honda continues to advance in its research, development and application of a unique G-force Control ( G-CON ) technology to help reduce injuries by controlling the impact-energy of a collision (G). One area of research is crash compatibility, which investigates collisions between vehicles of different size, structure and hardness. This technology both increases self-protection and reduces impact severity on other vehicles in a collision.
Other advanced safety technologies developed by Honda include: i-SRS intelligent airbag system – a dual-stage, dual-threshold airbags that utilize both crash severity and seat belt use to optimize airbag deployment; state-of-the-art Traction Control System (TCS) – a computer-controlled and driver-selectable, TC mechanism that improves handling, stability and traction at all speeds and with all types of low-grip road conditions; Drive-By-Wire (DBW) -- an electronic throttle control system; Anti-lock Breaking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) system that electronically controls front/rear brake pressure distribution according to front/rear weight distribution ; Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) system.
Last but not least is Honda's Real-world crash test facility -- the omni-directional vehicle-to-vehicle crash test facility at the Tochigi R&D, and the world's first indoor all-weather facility of its type.
